Write for Us – Gay and Lesbian Travel Blog Guidelines

Are you an LGBTQ travel blogger with a good story to share with LGBTQ travelers? Or the owner of a travel company that serves the LGBTQ+ audience? If so, then keep reading to learn how you can contribute to Queer Adventurers.

Our LGBTQ Travel Focus

Queer Adventurers is all about LGBTQIA travel. Our focus areas include:

  • The best destinations if you’re LGBTQ
  • LGBTQ travel safety – but with a twist!
  • LGBTQ+ travel trends
  • LGBTQ tours, group trips, and outdoor organizations to help queer travelers find community wherever they roam
  • Travel planning advice that builds skills and confidence

Example Guest posts we’d love to see

We only consider pitch ideas sent to this Google Form.

Here’s what we are currently looking for:

Destination Guides: We love queer city guides, rural escapes, road trips and day trips.

A destination guide should cover why visit, best time of year to visit, outdoor activities/things to do, best neighborhood to stay in, and LGBTQ specific information such as laws and policies, LGBTQ bars, LGBTQ history etc.

Destination guides should be 1000 words minimum.

As of 2026, we are only looking for destination posts for countries and cities included in existing roundup posts:

Listicles of LGBTQ travel oriented businesses: Pitch us a list on LGBTQ-specific or LGBTQ allied businesses and brands!

This is a great option for brands that serve gay and lesbian traveler to showcase their offerings and give the queer travel community more resources.

Our gay group tour, lesbian group tour and inclusive brands to support lists continue to be some of our most popular posts.

LGBTQ travel safety with a twist: LGBTQ+ travelers get a lot of “where not to go” and “what not to do” safety advice. That’s disempowering and reductive.

We love LGBTQ travel safety posts that take a positive spin on the topic.

Example posts to get you inspired include this LGBTQ solo travel advice list, our roundup of safe lesbian travel resources to check before your next couple trip and this guest post on the benefits of furnished apartments for queer travelers and how to make sure yours is LGBTQ-welcoming.

Guest Post Guidelines

We are so excited you want to contribute to Queer Adventurers! Please review these guidelines before you suggest a topic to make sure your idea of a tight fit for our audience.

  • Authors should have personal experience with the topic or destination they’re pitching. I’d much rather see a queer city guide from a local or a traveler who’s spent significant time in the city than someone who passed through on a day trip.
  • Guest post must be unique. We do not republish articles.
  • Guest post must provide value for our audience. You don’t have to identify as LGBTQ to contribute. However, your content does need to demonstrate an understanding of this audience and its needs, wants and desires. Your post must connect specifically to the LGBTQ community. For example: if you want to write a guide to planning your first backpacking trip, it should include a section on what LGBTQ backpackers need to know.
  • Unsure how to tailor your post to the LGBTQ travel community? I’m happy to talk it over via email.
  • No spelling or grammar errors, please.
  • Minimum blog post length is 500 words.
  • All posts can be edited for clarity and house style.
  • If citing data, please link out to the original source.
